Son of murdered mother attacks her killer in court
Chaos erupted in an Ohio courtroom after two brothers attacked their mother’s killer during sentencing.

Video from the WFMJ shows one of the sons jumping over a table and plunging into convicted murderer Dale Williams Sr. The other son was seen running and grabbing Williams by the leg and pulling him to the ground.

The brothers apparently punched and kicked Williams, 62, as deputies and court staff tried to subdue them. Finally, one of the men was tasked by a deputy. Williams was taken out of court and taken to hospital for evaluation, according to authorities.

Jerome Stewart, 23, and Anthony Dees, 30, were arrested and charged with assault, contempt of court and obstruction of official business, according to online records. They are expected to appear in court next week.
“We had more officers there from the beginning,” Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene told WKBN-TV. “I’m sure they knew that there was some tension with this sentencing hearing. From what I could see, the officers acted accordingly. In fact, in my opinion, they did. doing pretty well.”

Williams’ sentencing hearing was adjourned to Monday. Authorities said the Youngstown courthouse was closed after receiving two bomb threats.
The defendant pleaded guilty to more serious murder in the 2017 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart.

He admitted to waiting 45 minutes for Pledger-Stewart to drive to work, then rammed her car down the street and shot her dead in broad daylight as she got out of the car, prosecutors said. Williams dumped his weapon, hitting the woman several times.

He was still shooting when the police arrived. Prosecutors said he intended to save one bullet for himself, but ended up shooting all of them at his ex-girlfriend.

He faces up to 23 years in prison.
