Angry cop: Don’t tell me you don’t have a gun, we heard cannons!
We were sent this video by a witness of a scuffle between a dozen heavily armed police officers with automatic assault rifles and the owner of a turbocharged Honda (Acura) Integra DC2 (quite noisy). ).

The owner, Enrique Mendoza said he was messing around with the ‘starter controls’ outside his workshop minutes before the encounter:

“I used the launch control while storing my car and the police thought it was someone shooting the ak47 and pulled out the gun, they understood the situation when they realized it was really the car”
One of the officers who responded to the call to open fire commented on our YouTube video and gave his story:

“I’m a sergeant with a Black Eagle hat and a rifle. We got some ‘gunshots’ calls and the store was under a bridge, it was very noisy. First officer heard. gunfire was a 3X veteran and thought they were rifle shots.

“Plus, we found targets shot in the woods right next to the store. To be fair, we were wrong about what we heard, but imagine if we were right. Right on the day. the next day, we had an officer engaged in a gunfight with an active shooter, so you just never know what you’re walking into.”
Another officer seemed particularly angry, swearing and accusing the Integra owner of lying.

To be fair, if you hear something that might sound like gunfire in the distance, you won’t exactly walk over there as meekly as if you were asking for a bowl of sugar from your neighbor.
It’s good to see that after the police realized their mistake, there were smiles and apologies on both sides. The big cop said “lo siento,” which means “sorry” in Spanish, and shook the Integra’s owner’s hand as soon as he proved the officer wrong.
When we uploaded this video to facebook, we received over 40,000 comments, many with very different opinions on how the police should handle the situation.

Let us know what you think in the comments and whether you think they acted appropriately.

Thanks to Enrique Mendoza and Viralhog for this clip.
